Risograph Animation
Process
The risograph printer works in layers with individual inks. I started by creating a digital animation with 72 frames at 12fps. I then exported each frame onto a sheet with 12 frames and color separated them for the risograph.
The printer burns a grayscale image onto a master sheet, similar to screen printing, and is able to print the same image extremely quickly.
Each color is printed and the next color is layered creating a full color image. I then scanned each page (6 pages total) and exported each frame and imported them into photoshop to create a gif of the risograph images.
